   The birth anniversary of Ayurveda Shiromani Revered Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj, honored with the title of Vanaushadhi Pandit, was celebrated as 'Herb Day Celebration' at Yog Bhavan located at Patanjali Yogpeeth-2, Patanjali Wellness Centre. The program started with Yagya and recitation of Vedic mantras. In the programme, texts and books written by Acharya ji and newly researched medicines were released. On this occasion, Pujya Swami Ji Maharaj sent birthday greetings to Acharya Ji through phone from his stay in America.
Swami Ji Maharaj said that we are performing both Sevadharma and Sakhadharma together. Revered Acharya ji is rich in versatile talent. He has done unprecedented work in the fields of Ayurveda, education, research, writing, social service, agriculture and information and technology etc. His life is full of penance, sacrifice, effort, altruism and charity and is inspirational for all of us. Revered Acharya Ji is the condensed form of great sages like Maharishi Charak, Sushruta and Dhanvantari. Our wish is that Acharya ji should remain long-lived, long-lived, successful and brilliant and continue to follow Sanatan Dharma, Ved Dharma, Rishi Dharma,

Keep glorifying Ayurvedadharma and Sakhadharma. On this occasion, Acharya ji said that our feeling is that this day should be beneficial for everyone. Every year on this day Acharya ji presents his annual report card. This year he has given new quality welfare medicines like Renogrit, T.B. as return gift. And launched new medicines for UTI, nasal spray, Livogrit and Immunogrit syrup for children, Chyawanprash jelly as well as new products for animals.

Along with this, 111 volumes of 'World Herbal Encyclopedia' composed by Acharyashree were released. A team of hundreds of skilled scientists from Patanjali Research Institute was working on this epic for years. 'World Herbal Encyclopaedia' has been the dream project of Acharya ji which was launched today. Along with this, 'Flora of Rashtrapati Bhavan', 'Medicinal Plants of Rashtrapati Bhavan', 'Flora of Sijusa- Arunachal Pradesh', 'Man Ke Manke Part-2' and 'World Botanical Fund Part-6' were also released. Acharya ji told that in 'Flora of Rashtrapati Bhavan', 620 plants located in the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex have been illustrated along with herbarium. Apart from this, there is a description of 401 medicinal plants located in Rashtrapati Bhavan in 'Medicinal Plants of Rashtrapati Bhavan'. Releasing the book 'Evidence Based Ayurveda', Acharya said that today in the name of Ayurveda, fraud, hypocrisy, deception and show-off are going on. In the name of Ayurveda, some are giving crushed allopathic pills, while some are feeding heavy metals. He said that Patanjali has done the work of propagating the knowledge and science of sages all over the world. Along with Acharya ji, joint author Dr. R.C. Dubey's book Microbiology and Prof. Of. N. S. Yadav's book Statistical Methods - A Guide was also released in Hindi and English language. In the evening session, a cultural program was organized by the students of the institute's teaching units and specially invited artists.

On this occasion, respected Yashdev, General Secretary of Patanjali Gramodyog Shastri ji said that birthday is just an excuse, it is Acharya ji's love for nature which is the main inspiration behind Herbs Day. He said that this journey of Patanjali has started from zero and reached the pinnacle of progress. Acharya ji has an important role in this. We should take inspiration from the life of Acharya Shri that we be an effort maker.

Voluntary blood donation camp, free eye check-up and medical check-up camp were organized under the leadership of Dr. Anurag Varshney, Principal Scientist of Patanjali Research Institute. Acharya ji himself donated blood in the blood donation camp, inspired by which a total of 562 people donated blood. Also, a total of 415 people got their eyes checked in the free eye camp conducted with the help of Pradeep Nain. For eye patients free spectacles were also distributed to the patients. A total of 545 people were examined for dental diseases in the dental check-up camp conducted in collaboration with Dr. Kuldeep. On this occasion, Acharya ji said that regular blood donation and physical check-up provide health benefits.
Lakhs of medicinal plants like Tulsi, Giloy, Ashwagandha, Aloe vera, Neem, Peepal etc. were distributed free of cost by Patanjali. Along with this, 5,000 to 10,000 medicinal plants were distributed free of cost in almost every district of the country by various organizations and units in more than 5000 tehsils and more than 1 lakh villages of 600 districts of the country.
