Two days National Workshop concludes in Patanjali University

   19 August : A two-day national workshop sponsored by the University Grants Commission's Inter-University Yoga Center, Bangalore, at Patanjali University on the topic 'Indian Meditation Method for Holistic Health' concluded today in which scholars from various universities were present. The chief guest of the program was Vice Chancellor of Science and Technology University Meghalaya and President of the Indian Universities Association, Prof. Gauridutt Sharma underlined the role of Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in the National Education Policy 2020. He said that meditation gives strength to look into the inner mind and make the body and mind work in mutual harmony. 
While presiding over the workshop, Vice Chancellor of Patanjali University, Revered Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj said that meditation has a very important place in Ashtanga Yoga. He said that meditation increases physical and mental concentration. In ancient Indian medicine, meditation has been used for the physical, mental and spiritual development of a person and in the treatment of various diseases. Also in the workshop, Acharya ji announced the invention of new methods of meditation.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi University as special guest Vice Chancellor Prof. Bhuvnesh Sharma on Transcendental Meditation and Maharishi Mahesh Yogi Presented lectures on the workshop. Spirituality of Shantikunj, Haridwar Sadhak Vireshwar Upadhyay taught Savita Dhyana and Dr. Rajnarayan Mishra conducted a workshop on Himalayan meditation tradition. 
On the closing occasion, the chief guest was Veereshwar Upadhyay, a spiritual seeker of Shantikunj Haridwar and the special guest was Dr. C.B Thapa.
First place in the quiz competition organized in the workshop Kumari Lakshmi, Richa Kumari, Sakshi of MSc Yoga Science, Prachi, Suraj and Anupriya of MA first year stood second and Pragya, Sadiksha and Durgesh of BA final year stood third. In the poster competition, B.Sc. students Aditi Gupta, Vani Verma, Divyanshi and Pooja stood first. MSc students Sakshi Sharma and Vijay Lakshmi won the second position. MSc students Sakshi Basata and Purva had to be content with third place. Patanjali University Chancellor Pujya Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj sent his good wishes on the successful organization of the two-day workshop. At the end of the program, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Vote of thanks was given by Dr. Mahavir Aggarwal.

Katiyar, Dean of Yoga Department, Prof. Dr. Om Narayan Tiwari, Acharya Chandramohan Mishra of Music Department, Dr. Nivedita, Dr. Nidhish, Dr. Rudra Bhandari, Dr. Vipin Dubey, Dr. Sandeep, Dr. Aarti Yadav, Acharya Gautam, Dr. Vinay Sharma, Dr. Lakshmi Shankar Rath, Dr. Monica, Dr. Saloni, Dr. Kapil Shastri, Dr. Vaishali Gaur, Dr. Aarti Pal, Dr. Anju, Dr. Alka Giri and students were present.
